Programma giornaliero
Let’s start this ideal dialogue between Veneto and Friuli with the visit of Concordia Sagittaria, an important Roman town founded in 42 b.c. The name “Sagittaria” comes from “sagitta” that means arrow: this probably was an arrow production site for the Roman army. You can still see remains from warehouses, houses, thermal baths, wells and streets (decumanus maximus). Delicious wine tasting in a local wine estate to follow, to taste fine local wines. Lunch in Pordenone and then visit of this beautiful town, that has been defined as the “painted town”, thanks to its frescoed palaces (how many Augsburg coats of arms can you spot?). You will discover an elegant old town and you will have the time to do some shopping. Do not forget to end your visit with a delicious break in a local chocolate shop! Dinner and overnight.
Today we are going to visit Sacile, the Garden of Venice, full of Venetian echoes and noble architectures, mixed with natural scenarios created by the river Livenza.
Our walking tour is guided by the river, that we cross in three different points, and that can refresh us for a while: ancient palaces, squares and tiny churches will be the tour’s protagonists. Lunch in a local restaurant proposing typical specialties, while in the afternoon we will discover Polcenigo, a real source of history, architecture and art. This village is characterized by silence, peace and by the imposing castle, that looks over the village from the hill above. Here, some jewels are well hidden: for example, visit the noble Salice Scolari Palace, a wonderful aristocratic residence perfectly preserved. Let’s end our visit with the Gorgazzo, a mysterious source: nobody knows how deep it is! Its blue and green nuances are perfect for your pictures.
Today the visit is entirely dedicated to Treviso, one of the most beautiful Venetian-style towns, that keeps several important and charming monuments: Piazza dei Signori, with the Palazzo dei Trecento o della Ragione, the Knights’ Loggia, The Cathedral and many others. Enjoy the refined atmosphere of the old town, and then enjoy a lunch to follow. In the afternoon, visit the famous Prosecco road and reach a wonderful Venetian Villa that has been transformed into a famous wine estate: a delicious wine tasting is waiting for you!
Let’s end our dialogue between Friuli and Veneto with Portobuffolé, one of the most beautiful Villages in Italy, presenting several noble houses once owned by local aristocratic families: Casa Gaia, a magnificent house from the 14th century; the municipal tower, the only surviving tower in the village; the Cathedral, a former synagogue transformed into a Catholic church. Then you will visit Oderzo, a town that will amaze you for its elegant squares and palaces and its pretty churches. Lunch in Oderzo and then visit of Portogruaro, a deeply Venetian town, rich in alleys, canals and aristocratic palaces.
