One of the most famous musical events in Italy, the Pordenone Blues Festival 2019, is ready to give us, as every year, prestigious international names that have made the history of blues, soul and R&B music. In Pordenone Blues Festival 2019, scheduled from July 15th to 20th, the program is rich and diversified: the city center dresses in Blues with concerts, exhibitions, contests, that attract artists from all over Italy and abroad, musical aperitifs and so on!

15 LUGLIO: THE STARS FROM THE COMMITMENTS
A famous Irish band that has influenced the history of soul music, with the only Italian date of the year at the Pordenone Blues Festival! The band’s live performance, (free entry), will be an unmissable opportunity to relive some great successes of soul music; above all, those from the legendary 90s cult film “The Commitments” by Alan Parker, candidate for two Academy Awards. After the huge success that followed the film release, the band continues to perform on international stages, from Europe to the United States, proposing great classics and timeless hits like “Take Me To The River”, “In The Midnight Hour”, “Destination Anywher”, “Chains of fools”, and others.
16 LUGLIO : STEVE HACKETT
The legendary former Genesis guitarist will be the absolute protagonist, with reinterpretations and new songs, of the evening of Tuesday, July 16th at Parco San Valentino: he entirely will perform”Selling England by the Pound” , some excerpts from “Spectral Mornings” – as well as timeless Genesis classics and songs from his new album.
17 LUGLIO : KOOL & THE GANG
Parco San Valentino will host, on Wednesday 17 July, the unique date in Italy of KOOL & THE GANG, the iconic fathers of jazz-funk, with over 50 years of career and 70 million records sold worldwide. The soul and funky rhythms of the famous American band have marked the history and evolution of pop-dance, influencing the music of three generations. Thanks to songs like “Celebration”, “Get Down on it”, “Jungle Boogie”, “Fresh Cherish”, “Summer Madness” and “Open Sesame”, the band was awarded with various awards, including two Grammy Awards and seven American Music Awards.
18 LUGLIO : RIVAL SONS + ERIC SARDINAS + JOANNA CONNOR
On July 18th we will be able to assist to the live performances of: RIVAL SONS, a Californian quartet based in Long Beach with a gritty sound that can range from blues rock to hard rock; the American singer, guitarist and composer ERIC SARDINAS, who will offer the public an intense and explosive show, combining heavy blues and rock; and, from Chicago, the exceptional JOANNA CONNOR, ready to set fire to the Festival stage with her slide guitar!
20 LUGLIO – NNEKA, MELVIN TAYLOR BLUES MACHINE, BOB MALONE BAND
Three great free admission concerts on July 20th to round off the 28th Pordenone Blues Festival: the soul reggae star NNEKA, the great guitarist MELVIN TAYLOR BLUES MACHINE and the key virtuoso BOB MALONE with his band. It will be a great party with free admission, an unmissable musical event preceded and enriched by the Blues Contest 2019, valid for the selections of the 36th International Blues Challenge!
SATURDAY JULY 20TH, BLUES TRIP – take part in a blues trip on Saturday 20th July! Set off to discover Pordenone surroundings to discover Giovanni Antonio De’Sacchis, the famous “Pordenone”, a great Italian Renaissance painter who in this area of Friuli Venezia Giulia painted his main masterpieces. We will tell you his story by showing you the frescoes kept in the churches of the area. Departure at 09.00 AM on Saturday 20th July from the South parking of Pordenone Fiere, duration 5 hours.
